Mission

The mission of the Capital District Nursing Research Alliance is to facilitate the development and collaboration of nursing students, nurses, and nursing scholars in health care organizations and academic institutions to conduct, utilize and disseminate research findings readily translatable into evidence based practice and health policy.  Nursing research encompasses a broad scope of rigorous scientific inquiry that includes clinical research, health systems and outcome research, and nursing education research.  The Nursing Research Alliance of the Capital District Region reflects the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (2005), American Nurses Association (2003), International Council of Nurses (1999), New York State Nurses Association (2003), the National League for Nursing (2005), and Sigma Theta Tau International (2005) position statements on nursing research that support the conduct and use of research to advance nursing practice, shape health policy and impact the health of individuals, families and communities worldwide.
