Lesson Seven: Rapid Critical Appraisal of Evidence
ACTIVITY

  1. As you conduct a search of the databases using your PICO question as your guide. Begin with the highest level of evidence available.
  2. There are published tools to help you organize your evidence.  Check with your mentor to see which one would be helpful.
  3. Appraise each piece of evidence found by asking three key questions in the rapid critical appraisal process to determine the results of the study, whether the results are valid, and whether the results apply to your patient population.
Sift through and identify what the best available evidence is to answer your PICO question.
