Lesson Eleven: The Relationship of Evidence Based Practice to Quality Improvement

Activity

  1. Find out what quality improvement projects are underway in your facility or on your unit. What spurred these projects? What reports from the data or problem started the project(s)?
  2. What goals are being achieved by these projects? What is the evidence the participants in the project(s) are considering in order to determine if progress is being made?
  3. Join a QI team. Identify the process the team is using to achieve and maintain continuous improvement through ongoing monitoring and improvement activities.
